The steel brake pads of automobiles are generally composed of a steel plate, a bonded heat insulating layer, and a friction block, wherein the heat insulating layer is composed of a material that does not transfer heat, and is intended to be insulated. The friction block is composed of a friction material and an adhesive, and is squeezed on the brake disc or the brake drum to generate friction when braking, thereby achieving the purpose of decelerating the brake of the vehicle. Due to the friction, the friction blocks are gradually worn out, and generally the lower the cost, the faster the brake pads wear. The brake pads of the car are classified into brake pads for disc brakes, brake shoes for drum brakes, and blades for large trucks. Brake pad wear problem

The eccentric wear of the steel brake pads not only causes abnormal braking noise, but also may cause a decrease in braking force, resulting in brake failure. If the steel brake pads of the car are eccentric, we must first check the brake system. There are many reasons for the partial wear of the brake pads of the car. Generally, we need to check one by one.

Common reasons are: the deformation of the brake disc will lead to brake eccentric wear; the difference between the length of the left and right brake tubing will make the brake force unevenly distributed, resulting in eccentric wear; the brake cylinder returning inconsistent will lead to excessive wear on one side. Although the telescopic rod of the automobile has a rubber gland seal, if the water is in the water or lacks lubrication, the rod cannot be freely stretched, and the outer piece of the brake pad cannot leave the brake disc during braking, which may cause additional wear. When we inspect the vehicle, we can refer to the above analysis to determine the cause of the abnormal wear of the brake pad, and then proceed with the treatment.

Brake pad replacement precautions

When changing the film, you must first check whether the brake disc is smooth and flat. If it is not suitable, replace the brake disc or flatten the brake disc, otherwise it will increase the chance of noise and partial wear. If it is not repaired, it needs to be indicated on the repair order. When there is a problem, you can check the maintenance record and judge the responsibility.

Brake oil is also something that cannot be ignored. Since the brake oil is soluble in water, after a period of use, a small amount of air and moisture in the oil plus some impurities in the engine movement will reduce the braking force, which may not be obvious at ordinary times. If continuous and long-distance braking is required, Excessive moisture and impurities in the brake fluid tend to reach the boiling point, causing brake failure.

Also pay attention to the material of the steel brake pads. Asbestos-containing brake pads are banned due to their cancer. However, there are still non-standard manufacturers in production and sales, so you should not buy asbestos-containing brake pads for the sake of cheapness.
